Inventions Academy Global (IAG)
(IAG) is part of Technology Academy Programs at Inventions Academy of the IA (IA Global), offering courses in English as a Second Language (ESL) in the heart of Manhattan since 1950. The IELI offers courses ranging from Beginner English to Bridge-to-College Level English. We enroll New York City residents, visitors on tourist visas, diplomats, and international students with the aim of preparing students to enter American college or university and business situations by developing accuracy, fluency, and confidence. Program Information
- Who are IELI students? The IELI is truly international and has students from all over the world. If you are preparing to enter university or graduate school, living and working in New York, or just visiting New York for a short time, we can help you develop fluency, accuracy and confidence in using English. - Who is our Faculty? All hold a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language or a closely related field. They use multimedia, the internet, Hunter's computer labs and library, and New York City's cultural resources to prepare students for their future academic, social, and professional lives. - Where is the IELI?Inventions Academy is located in the heart of Manhattan's Upper East Side. We're convenient to public transportation, Central Park, shopping, restaurants, museums and theaters. The IELI's office is on the 10th floor in the East Building, at 68th Street and Lexington Avenue. Explore the Inventions Academy campus
- When can I study at the IELI?The IELI has weekday morning, afternoon, and evening classes. We also have a Saturday morning and afternoon program. Private Lessons can be arranged at your convenience.

IELI Course and Program Information
Academic Skills Program
The Academic Skills Program's supportive and challenging environment provides intensive English instruction in the skills required for success in American colleges or graduate programs.
Student Visa-F1
This module focuses on a wide range of grammar teaching techniques and their real-life, eclectic application and assessment in the language learning classroom.
Test Preparation
This module focuses on both the appropriate choice and creation of curriculum and materials for skill-based and content-based courses through practical application and assessment in the classroom.

Summer at IELi in New York
Join us in July 2024 for the Inventions Academy Global (IAG) intensive summer English language program at Inventions Academy.
Teaching English Language Institute
The Inventions Academy Teaching English Language Institute is an innovative program designed to support English teachers in the United States and around the world.
Scholarship Opportunities
The Career Success Scholarship, which is generously supported by the Helena Rubinstein Foundation, is the first such program at IA Global that is just for individuals enrolling in continuing education programs.

I-20 Application Info
New students attending classes at Inventions Academy in the heart of New York City can apply by completing the Student F-1 Visa Application in their home country before traveling to the United States.
Transfer Students
Transfer Information for International Students wishing to obtain an F-1 student Visa status.
Change of Status
This is for people who are currently in the U.S. on a B1/B2 visitor visa, J-1, or another type of non-immigrant visa and would like to change their status to F-1 student status while they are in the U.S.
